Mathematics Bridging Course

The Department of Mathematics offers students the opportunity to review key topics from secondary school mathematics before the start of the winter semester. During their studies at the Prague University of Economics and Business, students are required to complete a mathematics course (Mathematics for Economists, Mathematics for Informatics, or Calculus). Therefore, it is important to have a solid foundation on which these courses can build.

The aim of the course is to strengthen computational skills and deepen students’ understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts, with an emphasis on their further applications, particularly in statistics and economics.

The course will cover graphs and properties of elementary functions, graphs of conic sections, algebraic manipulation of expressions, rules for working with powers and roots, logarithms and logarithmic calculations, solving various types of equations and inequalities, systems of linear and nonlinear equations.
